BUILDING Bridges Workshop

This prejudice-reduction workshop helps students to celebrate their similarities and differences, recognize the misinformation they have learned about various groups, claim pride in group identity, understand the personal impact of discrimination, and learn hands-on tools for dealing effectively with prejudicial comments and behaviors.

Building Bridges workshops can be tailored for K-12th grade students.

 

Controversial issues dialogue workshop

During this workshop, participants select an issue that is divisive amongst the group and learn how to listen to the underlying concerns on all sides in order to reframe the debate in a way that allows for the generation of real solutions.

Controversial Issues Dialogues can be tailored for 9th-12th grade students.

 

Violence prevention workshop

This participatory workshop helps participants to identify types of bullying, mistreatment, and harassment in their school community, understand the root causes of violence, identify ways to prevent violence, and practice non-violent intervention techniques when confronted with mistreatment.

Violence Prevention workshops can be tailored to the needs of 6th-12th grade students.

 

High school train-the-trainer

The Train-the-Trainer builds a corps of students, staff, and community members who can facilitate NCBI trainings for the school community. This program teaches effective leadership skills in the areas of prejudice reduction, violence prevention, conflict resolution, and community building.  Click here to learn more about High School Train-the-Trainer.

High School Train-the-Trainer Seminar is offered to 10th-12th grade students in Missoula and closely surrounding areas.
